Artist Profile in Ann Kullberg's colored pencil magazine, Color
I feel privileged to have been asked by Ann to be her Artist Profile in her August 2017 issue. I had great fun writing the article and hope that it will inspire some of the colored pencil artists that read it.
TCPAA Spring Exhibit at the City of Tucson Ward 6 Office Building
The Tucson Colored Pencil Artists Association generally sponsors two shows a year at different locations. This 2017 spring our show was at our meeting place, the City of Tucson Ward 6 Office Building. It was a beautiful exhibit with work from our very talented colored pencil artist. I was honored to win a 2nd Place award for my piece titled "Pomegranates Aplenty". This drawing can be seen in the Still Life Gallery on this website.
One Man (person) show at the Hilltop Gallery in Nogales, Arizona
I will have an exhibit in the main gallery at the Hilltop Gallery in Nogales, Arizona from January 7th till January 31st. Works will include Landscapes, Still Lifes, some Florals, animals and some Native American Ceremonial drawings.

TCPAA Exhibition in Las Cruces in February
The Tucson Colored Pencil Artist Association will be showing at The Unsettled Gallery in Las Cruces, NM in February of 2013. February is the big Gallery Walk for Las Cruces. This years celebration is titled "For The Love Of Art" and I'll will have some Colored Pencil pieces hanging in the Gallery with the group. The artist reception will be February 9th from 4 to 6 PM.
TMAC Exhibition Murphey Gallery in March
The Tucson Mountains Artist Collective will be showing at Murphey Gallery at St. Philips In The Hills Church in March. I'll have several Colored Pencil pieces hanging in the show. The opening reception will be held Sunday, March 10th, 2013 from 2 to 4 PM. The show will hang until April 11, 2013.
Co-Exhibiting at the Western National Parks Association Store Gallery
My Friend and Fellow Artist, Becky Neideffer, will be co-exhibiting with me at the Western National Parks Association Store Gallery in April of 2013. The works of art will be Southwestern Landscapes with an emphasis on National Parks of the West. The Store and Gallery address is 12880 N. Vistoso Village Drive, Oro Valley, AZ 85755.
Arizona State Fair October 2012
My Colored Pencil piece "Cowlick And Curlytail" garnered 5th place in the Colored Drawing Category at the Arizona State Fair October of 1012. The piece can be seen in the Portraits/Animals gallery here on my website
Two of my pieces were hanging in the State House of Representatives
This exhibit is through the cooperation of the Arizona Art Alliance and the state government offices. The two pieces, "Somebody Loves Me" and "At The Confectionary" will hang there for one year as part of the Arizona Centennial celebration. Both pieces can be seen here on this Website.
"Monument Valley Morning" was juried into the "Arizona Valentine" exhibit was held at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, AZ.
This exhibit is in celebration of this year's Arizona State Centennial. The drawing can be seen in the Landscape gallery here on this Website
Six of my pieces were in the Fine Arts Competition at the 2012 Pima County Fair.
I garnered 1st Place with "St. Philips Fish Pond", 2nd Place with "Old World" and 5th Place with "In The Tack Room." The other three pieces took Merit Awards. The three placing winners can be seen here on my Website.

I've been juried into the International Guild of Realism Exhibition
The exhibit will be held in Sante Fe, NM at the Sage Creek Gallery, 200 Old Santa Fe Trail, in Santa Fe, NM. The exhibit will run from Sept 30 through October 22, 2011. The piece juried into the show is "Reflections On The Dark Side" which can be seen now in the Landscape Gallery here on my website.
I've been juried into the CPSA Explore This! 7 online exhibition
The exhibit will be posted in CPSA's website beginning February 1st. The piece juried into the show is "Pepperpot" which can be seen now in the Still Life Gallery here on my website. To see the exhibit go to the

I was juried into the CPSA 19th Annual International exhibition
This exhibit was held in Dallas, TX this year in conjunction with the annual convention. The piece that was accepted was "Luscious Reds"...it can be seen in the Still Life Gallery on this website. The Exhibit ran from June 29, 2011 through July 31, 2011.
I was juried into the Arizona Art Alliance themed exhibition
This exhibit was to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of Veterinary Medicine and includes artwork showing animals and the animal/human interaction. The pieces that were accepted are "Dappled Appaloosa" and "Mountin' Up"...both can be seen in the Portraits/Animals Gallery on this website. The Exhibit ran from March 3rd through April 3rd, 2011. The location was the Arizona Arts Alliance Gallery at 9011 E. Indian Bend, Suite E-1 in the Scottsdale Pavillions Shopping Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In December, I was co-exhibiting in the gallery at Agua Caliente
The show ran from December 17th, 2010 through January 19th, 2011

In mid-October, I entered the Fine Arts Competition at the Arizona State Fair in Phoenix
I was awarded 1st, 2nd and 4th places in the "Colored Drawing" Category
In October, I co-exhibited, along with Kathy Robbins, in the Murphey Gallery at St. Philips In The Hills at the corner of Campbell and River Rd. here in Tucson
The show ran from October 10th till November 3rd.
In the months of October and November, our local Colored Pencil group exhibited in the reception room at the City of Tucson Ward 6 Office Building
I had three Colored Pencil pieces included in that exhibit
Fine Arts Competition and Exhibit at the Pima County Fair
April 15 through April 25th. I had 6 pieces in the competition; 2 in the Themed Category "So. Arizona Mountains", and 4 in the Colored Pencil category. I was awarded Best of Show, 1st Place and 3rd Place in the colored pencil category and
2nd Place in the Themed Category.
Horse HeART Exhibition
March 12 through April 12. "Dappled Appaloosa" (seen in the Portrait/Animal gallery of this website) has been one of 50 works of art juried into an exhibition called Horse HeART to benefit the "Let 'Em Run" foundation which works to
preserve wild horses. The gallery is called ART ATTACK Gallery and is located in Incline Village, NV on the north shore of Lake Tahoe
TCPAA Spring Exhibition

Tucson Botanical Gardens TCPAA Exhibition
January 5th through January 31st, 2010. The Tucson Colored Pencil Artists' Association will have an exhibit in the gallery at the Tucson Botanical Gardens. Won People's Choice award for the exhibition

Tucson Pima Arts Council Open Studio Tour
At my studio on November 14th and 15th from 11 AM till 5 PM. I was joined by two other artists, Susan Swain (an art photographer) and Maryann Kot (another Colored Pencil artist). We all had work on display for sale or just to view, notecards featuring our work, etc. Look for the announcement of the 2010 Open Studio next fall. It is an opportunity to meet and greet professional artists and other folk who have an interest in the arts.
Arizona State Fair Fine Arts Competition
I had three drawings at the State Fair in Phoenix, AZ. The exhibition started October 16th and ran through November 9th. "Dappled Appaloosa" (seen in the Portraits/Animals gallery on this site) won 1st Place. The drawing entitled "Somebody Loves Me" (seen in the Landscapes gallery) won 4th Place.
Contents, Interiors "All Things Dining" Exhibition
Exhibit will be hanging from September 3 through October 30 at Contents Interiors, 3401 E. Ft. Lowell Blvd. in Tucson.
