Welcome to my Online Colored Pencil Studio
I have been involved with art from the time I can remember as a child. My focus was on art into my college years. Though life interfered at one point and my primary focus was on my family and children, I soon found that I could not stay away from it and was always, at least, thinking of it if not doing it. Time passed and I was not creating art on a professional level, but creating it for my own pleasure. Eventually, that was not enough, and I began to work on a full time basis at my easel. Then I found Colored Pencil as a medium and began to produce drawings at such a rate that I was able to collect a body of work exceeding 40 drawings in the space of 7 months and was given a "one man" show at the Hilltop Gallery in Nogales, AZ. Since then I have continued to create drawings in Colored Pencil and have been accepted to many shows of renown. I have begun experimenting with different support surfaces and expanding my horizons with new products that are still within the Colored Pencil medium, but add additional depth and dimensions to my drawing.
While some artists settle on one subject matter to create their drawings or paintings, I find that I sense beauty in all things, be it nature, architecture or a composed still life and cannot limit myself to only one of them. I love the flora and fauna of the desert, buildings and people and will continue to explore the beauty in all things.
I am available for commissions. Please contact me for more information.

One of 7 full Demonstrations in Ann Kullberg's newest book, "Draw Landscapes In Colored Pencil
I was honored when Ann asked me to be part of this wonderful book, especially when I saw on the cover that she named the participants as Master Artist. This is a beautiful book chocked full of great "how to" information on drawing various types of landscapes. Naturally, mine is a southwest scene.
Artist Profile in Ann Kullberg's colored pencil magazine, Color
I feel privileged to have been asked by Ann to be her Artist Profile in her August 2017 issue. I had great fun writing the article and hope that it will inspire some of the colored pencil artists that read it.
"Prizes of May" Exhibition 2017 at the Hilltop Gallery in Nogales, Arizona
My Colored Pencil piece "Aftermath Of A Shopping Spree" won 1st Place in the Drawing and Painting category at the Hilltop Gallery in Nogales, Arizona. This is the fifth 1st Place award that I have been given in this annual exhibit. You may see "Aftermath Of A Shopping Spree" in the Still Life Gallery on this website.
TCPAA Spring Exhibit at the City of Tucson Ward 6 Office Building
The Tucson Colored Pencil Artists Association generally sponsors two shows a year at different locations. This 2017 spring our show was at our meeting place, the City of Tucson Ward 6 Office Building. It was a beautiful exhibit with work from our very talented colored pencil artist. I was honored to win a 2nd Place award for my piece titled "Pomegranates Aplenty". This drawing can be seen in the Still Life Gallery on this website.
